Your Mac remembers.
Nothing leaves it.
Lax keeps a memory of what you work on and who you work with. It writes a journal of your day, answers questions about it and helps you write, with AI that runs on your own Mac.
From your screen to your memory
Each step feeds the next, and each one stays on your Mac.
-
Reads
The text of the window you're working in, through Accessibility. Never screenshots, never password fields.
-
Writes a journal
A few lines every quarter hour about what you did, in which app, with whom.
-
Learns
The people, projects and organisations in your days, each a Markdown page in
~/Laxthat you can edit. -

"What did I do on Tuesday?" Then ask on, and see the entries it's based on.
The salmon comes when you call
No fish jumping around every text field. Double-tap ⌥ Option where you write, and a small salmon swims to your cursor with your instruction. Enter writes a draft from what Lax knows; Enter again puts it in the field. Lax never sends anything.
Hi Anna,
Thanks for the quote. It looks good; we'll get back to you
by Friday.
Best,
Sam

What Lax never does
- Read password fields, password managers or private browser windows
- Send what it reads anywhere: the AI runs on your Mac
- Collect analytics or crash reports, or check in with anyone
- Press Send for you
Banking and health are excluded from the start, raw text is deleted 30 days after it's summarized, and you can pause or forget anything. Each promise has a test: see them.
